Blues delegation visits Thailand to provide special intensive training to junior Thai footballers

The delegation of Everton FC officials are now in town for 11 days to provide a special football techniques training to ThaiBev Football Academy (TBFA) and Bangkok Football Academy, including intensive course for Thailand Premier League clubs, aimed to uplift standard of Thai football society to the international level. They received a warm welcome by Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra at City Hall.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) joined force with Thai Beverage PLC (ThaiBev) and Bangkok United FC to welcome the delegation from Everton FC, led by CEO Robert Elstone and Ray Hall, Director of the Everton International Football Academy on their visit to provide special football technique training courses for young footballers and interested public during October 7-19, 2009. To this connection, Everton CEO Robert Elstone presented an autographed Everton shirt to the Bangkok Governor.

During the trip Everton will select about 16-18 young Thais to train at their academy as part of an agreement between the club and Chang beer. Everton coaches will conduct a football clinic at Meesuwan stadium, in Phangnga, as well as at Chonburi FC. Elstone and his team will also visit the Chang-Everton Village in an area in Phuket which was hit by the tsunami in 2004.

The visit is in line with the agreement between Thai Beverage PLC (ThaiBev) and sponsorship partners Everton FC, aimming to further strengthen their relations with the country whose Chang beer is the club's main sponsor. ThaiBev signed a contract to extend its shirt sponsorship with Everton Football Club for another three years, beginning with the 2008/09 season.
